Like many practitioners, Belinda didn't start out as a therapist. After graduating with Honours from Oxford University she spent the best part of 15 years in various teaching, curriculum development and counselling roles in adult and secondary education and also spent a couple of years in the corporate world along the way. The move she made out of education in 1998 and into the therapy profession surprised many people but for Belinda it wasn’t astonishing at all: having spent many years focusing on how students, families and colleagues perceive, process and relate to their environment, to make the move into counselling and hypnotherapy felt like a natural progression.
Belinda’s decision to be trained by Terence Watts at The Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis in the UK was prompted not only by his expertise and reputation as a practitioner and teacher but by an approach to therapy which she felt was well aligned with her own beliefs about the workings of the mind, especially in relation to personality and motivation. She completed her Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy as well as her Diploma in Personal Development with Terence.
Belinda is a member of the Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy; is a Committee member of both The Australian Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy and The Council of Clinical Hypnotherapists and is also a member of the Australian Life Coaching Society and a charter member of the
Belinda’s mission to train you to become a first-rate professional Clinical Hypnotherapist utilises a dynamic combination of her expertise as an educationalist and her on-going experience in successful full time practice as a counselling hypnotherapist. Belinda is an approved supervisor for The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and for The Council of Clinical Hypnotherapists and as well as offering free telephone and email support throughout and beyond your training, she would be pleased to act as your supervisor upon your graduation from EICH (Australia).
